What to Expect
You will be collected very early in the morning from your Hurghada hotel (1:30) by an air-conditioned van and driven to the bus station, where you'll be met and assisted by your friendly tour guide before commencing the drive to Cairo.
Once in Cairo the tour begins with a visit to the Giza, home to the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Constructed over a 20 year period, concluding around 2560 BC, the pyramids of Cairo were the tallest man-made structure for more than 3,800 years. To this day it remains unclear exactly how they were built, although there are many theories which your guide will naturally explain. The Pyramids of Giza are a true sight to behold and the main reason many people come to Egypt.
Next stop is the incredible Sphinx. The Great Sphinx of Giza is a mythological creature, formed of a lion's body and a human head. Standing over 20 meters high and 73 meters long, the Sphinx is the oldest known monumental sculpture, and is commonly believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians in the reign of the pharaoh Khafra. Your guide will share with you all the mystery and legend behind this incredible structure.
After the Great Sphinx we make a stop for lunch at a speciality restaurant before heading to Cairo's famous bazaars for some free shopping time. Later on you will be accompanied by an Egyptologist tour guide to visit the world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. The world-famous museum's collections now total in excess of 120,000 pieces ranging from the pre-dynastic era and Pharaonic era to the Greco-Roman period in Egypt. After some time to explore this fascinating place, your Cairo tour concludes, after which you'll be transferred to the bus station for a relaxing drive back to your Hurghada hotel.
