Trabant Transfer to Memento Park with Guided Tour

Have you ever traveled in a car made of material even cattle can digest? Hop aboard a decades-old East-German paper Jaguar, the Trabant! Spine-chilling sound (trrrammm-tatatatata-tammm), a blue-gray sea of smoke paired with unforgettable smell – all that in a super small car. The Trabant experience is an authentic way to catch the last moment from the atmosphere of ‘existing socialism’. You will be picked up at your accommodation or at a previously agreed central meeting point in Budapest and driven to Memento Park - Statue Park. The driver-guide will explain sights you pass by en route to the museum. You will be invited for a hot or cold drink upon arrival and get a short introduction about the historical background and constructions of Memento Park. During the tour you will learn about the conceptual design of Memento Park, and have a general idea about the nature of dictatorships. Hear about political indoctrination, get a greater understanding about socialist realism, the art historic style of the era. Hear fun facts and tidbits about the dark and bright side about the life behind the Iron Curtain. After the approximately 70-minute-long tour you'll get a 30-minute free time to take photos, visit the Most Cheerful Barrack, catch a chapter or two of the agent-training movie, The Life of an Agent, or go to the Stalin's Grandstand to see the bunker exhibitions. After the tour you'll board the Trabant and be driven back to your accommodation.
