Full description
Discover the sights and sounds of Hue, the former Imperial capital of Vietnam. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city sits on the banks of the delightful Perfume River, where you will find amazing citadels, fabulous palaces, and royal tombs. Many of the sites can be reached by river, and on this full-day private tour a boat cruise is part of the program. You will be picked up from your hotel by your guide, who will take you down to the river for your cruise. Sail along the romantically named Perfume River, seeing Hue’s best-known religious sites, such as the Thien Mu Pagoda. Continue your journey by land, visiting the Imperial Citadel, from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. See the Flag Tower, Noon Gate, 9 Dynastic Urns, 9 Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace, and the Forbidden Purple City. After a break for lunch, visit Khai Dinh King’s Tomb and discover the blend of Western and Eastern architecture. Then visit Minh Mang King’s Tomb, where one is sure to be impressed by the majesty and symmetry of the architectural constructions. Continue to conical hat village, an incense stick-making village. The guided tour will give you a deep understanding about the king’s philosophy of geomancy, and how this affected royal life.

Amazing Tour Guide - Great Day!

This tour enables you to see more of Hue than you would possibly do on your own in 1 day. We had a small group of 6 people & they were all sociable, friendly & from different countries. Our tour guide was exceptionally friendly, very personable & most conscientious about his tour guests - always making sure where everyone was. You knew without a doubt that you wouldn't be left behind. The Imperial city was great, the Monks temple was amazing & serene, the short river cruise before lunch was pleasant & cooling with the breeze. The tour guide was very informative & answered any questions with ease. The Emperors tomb was rather opulent but you couldnt help but admire the architecture even if it was a bit too much. If your only in Hue for a short stay I definitely recommend this tour!

We enjoyed the day, appreciated a lot our guide Loc, delicious lunch

Pros: Loc was lively, dynamic, very knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions. We enjoyed the historical sites, the market and the souvenirs factory (ensen & conic hats making). Cons: We did not like the ride on the perfume river because the sales lady inside the boat was too insisting for selling her stuff so we missed 3/4 of the ride view.

Excellent tour with a really informative guide

If you are in Hue then this is a must tour. Starting in the Emperors Citadel and ending at the tombs. It's a lot to see in a day, but a good lunch was served, after a quick tour around the enormous Hue market. All done in some pretty heavy rain storms, which added to the character. The guide was great and some good company made for a great day.
