What to Expect
Located halfway between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Hue City is full of history. The former Imperial City became the country’s capital under the 19th-Century Nguyen dynasty, and the 3-square-mile walled Citadel was built along medieval designs.

Starting at 08:00 your car and guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to the Imperial Citadel. The seat of the Nguyễn emperors from 1802 to 1945, the massive complex contains formal gardens, pagodas and moats drenched with lotus flowers.
There are a number of famous spots inside and outside the Imperial Citadel you will see, such as the Flag Tower, Ngo Mon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace, and the Forbidden Purple City (Tu Cam Thanh).
You will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the royal tomb of Emperor Minh Mang, the Mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc and the vibrant Dong Ba market. At the end of your tour you will be returned to your hotel around 5:30pm.
Take in the atmosphere of the city resident’s daily life lived along the banks of the Perfume River and the historic streets of the city.
The tour will end with a drop-off at your hotel at about 17:30, or choose any other city location if you prefer to carry on sightseeing into the evening.
