Full description
Discover Sri Lanka’s Horton Plains National Park on this guided tour. The Horton Plains is covered by wild grasslands, patches of thick forest, rocky outcrops, filigree waterfalls, and misty lakes. Experience the park’s diverse landscapes and wide variety of wildlife. Sri Lanka's Horton Plains is one of the coldest and windiest locations in the country. The area’s unique landscapes and extensive wildlife also make it one of the most beautiful. Upon arrival, see all that the park has to offer. Visit Baker's Falls, see the famous World's End, and learn about the rare flora and fauna of the park. World's End, the sheer cliff with a drop of about 4,000 feet (1,200 meters), is one of the most-visited parts of Horton Plains and a key tourist attraction in Sri Lanka. As you explore, spot both large and small animals. Keep an eye out for the sambar, a deer-like animal commonly spotted at dusk and in the early morning. The park is also home to 12 species of endemic birds. Other animals that can be seen include the Kelaart’s long-clawed shrew, red slender loris, toque macaque, purple-faced langur, northern plains gray langur, rusty-spotted cat, and more.
