Spend a glorious day exploring Macau in an easy day trip from Hong Kong. Discover ancient Chinese temples, the Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral, a destroyed 16th-century Jesuit church, then take in the stunning views atop Penha Hill.
What to Expect
You begin by driving along the Guia circuit, where the annual Macau Grand Prix takes place. You'll have plenty of time to snap some pictures and soak up the life around here before we visit the Temple of the Goddess-A-Ma. This ancient temple, seated at the base of Barra hill, is a spectacular example of ancient Chinese architecture, and is the oldest temple in Macau, dating back more than 600 years!
We then take you to the Ruins of Sao Paolo, a 16th century church built by Italian and Japanese Jesuits looking to call Macau their home. Walk thorough the doors for a spectacular example of Eastern and Western synergy. Then it's time for a visit to the Penha Hill Church, a graceful and beautiful 17th century structure first built as a part of the Guia Fort. Finally, head to Nam Van Lake to try your luck in the casino.
