Explore the Champa temples of Mỹ Sơn in Quảng Nam province and discover an extraordinary history of Cham royalty and Vietnamese heroes. Then, sail along the Thu Bon River learning to cook Vietnamese cuisine.
What to Expect
Explore Mỹ Sơn on a combined 8-hour sighsteeing tour and cookery cruise. You will travel by air-conditioned minibus from Hanoi, departing at 08:00 to avoid the crowds. Upon arrival at Mỹ Sơn, explore the temples with an English-speaking guide. Constructed between the 4th and 14th century AD, the Hindu temples stand comparison with Borobudur and Angkor Wat.
Watch a Cham dance at an indoor theater, before driving to a local market. Buy ingredients for your cooking class, and learn about the various foods from the locals. Continue to a pottery village to watch villagers making pots, kettles and vases. It’s now time for your Cinnamon Cruise. Relax with a welcome drink and herbal foot massage.
Watch a cooking demonstration, before preparing the meal your chefs have just demonstrated. Enjoy the fruits of your labor as you head into Hoi An, sailing past coconut trees and fishing nets strung across the emerald-green water.
Stop at Kim Bong to see traditional boat yards and a carpenter’s workshop where artisans create stunning furniture, sculptures and souvenirs. Continue to Hoi An for lovely waterside views of the city, and arrive back at the pier at approximately 14:30.
