What to Expect
Escape the tourist hub of the old town and take to the islands and waterways of Hoi An riding pillion on a vintage Vespa. This exhilarating tour with local flavor (and snacking opportunities) opens up a vast and varied landscape of colorful village, country, and riverside life almost too remote to reach any other way.
Setting off from Hoi An town, take to the river aboard a local bike ferry and head into the morning melee of Cam Kim island’s fishing port, stopping at a traditional boat builders yard before setting off to explore the sleepy island villages. Zig-zagging through breathtaking scenery of rice paddies and farmland, take stops along the way to learn from friendly local families the art of mat weaving, farming, and how to make (and eat) the perfect banh dap (rice cracker).
Riding into a small village, stop at a local café to fuel up on local drip-coffee, gearing up for an adrenalin pumping 300 meter bamboo bridge river crossing that takes you to the opposing landscape on the seaboard side of the island making your way to Duy Hai market and harbour. Here, the local ferry crossing takes you to the water coconut palm fringed Cam Thanh and beyond to Tra Que Fishing Village for a fish cracker snack stop, before your final seafood lunch destination on the shores of the beautiful Ha My beach.
