Highly recommend getting a food tour when you first arrive in Hanoi to get a taste of everything local in Vietnam. Not only you get to try a variety local dishes you get a 4 hour tour of the city and get familiar with the area. At the end of the tour you get a 30min cyclo tour of the city allowing you to rest your foot. After the tour ended I was confident enough to browse around Hanoi and explore myself. If you go on the weekend you get to see the centre area better as no cars are allowed in and it is lively with people and the families out on the walk path with alit of local street performances.
This was an excellent street food tour with our guide Jenny. Interesting, friendly and knowledgeable, Jenny made it fun too and was was happy to answer all our questions. We had bun cha, fried and fresh spring rolls, papaya salad, banh mi & egg coffee. We finished off ourselves with a Hanoi beer on the street. All very clean and tasty and felt we were in safe hands. We did our cyclo tour mid way through and it was fun seeing the old quarter buzzing at night.
We enjoyed it immensely! Our guide, alex nguyen was vibrant, friendly and speaks fluent english. More importantly, He was very acommodating and patient with our group as we couldn’t walk that fast (my mother just had knee surgery). He brought us to 5 places i’m sure we couldn’t find on our own- the food was amazing! The cyclo ride made the trip more interesting! Highly recommended! Dont forget to check the weather forecast!
Dan was a fantastic guide. He brought me in great places to discover the Vietnamese cuisine. I learnt a lot about Hanoi history. And after I was able to relax my feet during the cyclo tour. It was just perfect. I recommend this tour.
Great tour with Dan! The food was incredible and riding the cyclos in the rain turned out to be charming as well.
