Discover the underground city of the Ci Chi Tunnels, traveling from Ho Chi Minh City by speedboat along the Saigon River. The 5-hour tour takes in the splendor of rural Vietnam, and explores the narrow tunnels used by the Viet Cong in the Vietnam War.
What to Expect
Spice up your experience in Vietnam on an alternative speedboat tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels of the Viet Cong.
Following a pick-up from your accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City at approximately 08:00 (or 13:30 for afternoon tours), sail along the Saigon River to Cu Chi. Admire the rural scenery along the banks of canals on the 1.5-hour cruise.
Upon arrival, explore the network of tunnels, built around 1948 to assist the Viet Minh in their fight against the French. The construction of the tunnels continued over the next 25 years until it was an underground city complete with living areas, kitchens, storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers.
Learn how the tunnels could house up to 10,000 people who lived, got married, and even raised their children underground. Designated a “Free Fire Zone” during the American War (Vietnam War) the area was heavily bombed. Squeeze your way into the entrances to experience what life was like during the war. There will also be the option to fire M16 and AK 47 guns at the shooting range.
Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City at 11:30 (16:30 for afternoon tours) for the end of tour services.
