Get an alternative view of the Mekong Delta on a full-day tour to the Cai Be Floating Market to see locals going about their daily lives. Watch the bustle of street vendors on colorful boats, see the farms and orchards of Ben Tre Province, and more.
What to Expect
Experience the heart of rural life in the Mekong Delta on a full-day small group sightseeing tour of the Cai Be Floating Market, where hundreds of boats gather to trade fruit and vegetables.
You will set off early to catch the market at its best. Following a 06:00 pick-up from your city center accommodation, transfer in air-conditioned comfort to the Mekong Delta. It’s an approximate 2-hour drive, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the views.
Upon arrival at Cai Be, board a small boat to cruise the waterways where locals have already gathered to trade local fruit, vegetables, freshly caught fish, and more. See the hustle and bustle of Mekong Delta life up close, and go to areas where fishermen are casting their nets.
After a Midday lunch at a local home, visit the Cai Mon Orchard Garden, known as the “Kingdom of Fruits of Ben Tre Province.” Wander the gardens before a shift in tempo, and visit a cock fighting farm. Learn how the cocks are prepared for their fight, and how they are cared for at the end.
Continue to Cai Mon Church to see one of the oldest churches of the Mekong Delta. Built by a French Catholic priest, and decorated with bonsai trees, the site evokes a sense of peace. Before your transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City, admire the pot plants and saplings of Vinh Bac.
