Escape the bustle of Ho Chi Minh City on a full-day small group tour to Vietnam’s only UNESCO-recognized mangrove forest reserve, and sail to Vam Sat Eco Tourist Zone to learn about the forest biodiversity and see crocodiles and monkeys in the wild.
What to Expect
Start this full-day eco adventure of the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City by transfering to Dan Xay Bridge. Then, journey by boat or canoe to the Vam Sat Eco-Tourist Zone, a natural bird reserve that is especially beautiful during the May to October nesting season.
Visit a crocodile swamp to learn about crocodile incubation and see the newborn crocodile swarm. Continue to a bat lagoon before venturing up Tang Bong Tower, where panoramic views of the biosphere reserve are your reward for the ascent to the top. After you’ve conquered the tower, enjoy a delicious lunch at the Carrot Restaurant.
Next, depart for Forest Park (Monkey Island), where you will visit the Can Gio Museum to learn more about the biodiversity of the mangrove forests. As you explore the reserve, look out for resident saltwater crocodiles and more than 1,000 wild monkeys.
Move on by canoe to experience the mangrove forest ecosystem up close. Go to the Rung Sac Guerilla Base to see the revolutionary base of the guerillas during the Vietnam War. Then, relax on the return journey to Ho Chi Minh City at approximately 17:00 for the end of your eco tour services.
