Tour the dramatic Cu Chi Tunnels of the Vietnam War on a 4-hour excursion from Ho Chi Minh City and learn about the extraordinary network of underground rooms, hospitals, and schools used during the war as command centers and field hospitals.
What to Expect
Escape the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City on a 4-hour tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels of the Viet Cong, and learn about one of the Vietnam War’s most remarkable features.
Enjoy the scenic drive north-west towards the Cambodian border. Upon arrival at the Cu Chi Tunnels, you will get to explore a section of the network of some 125 miles (200 kilometers) of subterranean passages and rooms, created in 1948, and learn the pivotal part they played in the war.
Marvel at the tiny trap doors, and climb inside to see where the Viet Cong built storage facilities, weapons factories, kitchens, and more. Dug by hand by the Vietnamese guerillas, the tunnels stretched from the nearby Cambodian border to the edge of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), at one point even running under a US airbase.
Your guide will talk you through the exhibits of old weapons, and you will get the chance to crawl inside to get a real feeling for life during the war. There will even be the chance to test out a MK16 or notorious AK47 firearm (optional).
