What to Expect
Embark on a 2-day cycling adventure into the heart of rural Mekong. Cycle past banana plantations and fields of sugar cane, and cross canals and rivers on local ferries on your first day.
Visit Cai Be floating market in the early morning hours of your second day before swinging back onto your bike and cycling to Cai Lay along Longan (Dragon eye) tree lined pathways. Continue to My Tho for lunch and through the lush gardens of seasonl fruits to Tam Vu from where you will be driven back to Ho Chi Minh City.
strong>Day 1: Ho Chi Minh - Ben Tre – Vinh Long (60km Cycling)(L,D)</strong>
After an early shuttle transfer from Ho Chi Minh to My Tho hop onto your bike and get ready to tackle today’s route. Cycle along narrow roads and lanes, and through the lush green landscape of the delta. Head off the road and enjoy superb biking on dirt lanes weaving around hamlets, across water channels, and through dense vegetation. Refill your energy reserves during your overnight stay on Vinh Long Island.
Day 2: Vinh Long - Cai Be - Cai Lay – My Tho - Saigon (50km Cycling)(B,L)
After breakfast cruise along the upper Mekong River. Visit a tree nursery garden with hundreds of young trees and experience local life at the bustling floating market of Cai Be. Have a peak into a family-run business producing rice paper, and learn how this key ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine is made. Cycle to to My Tho for a refreshing lunch, and cycle to the ornamental Khmer pagoda of Vinh Trang. Continue your journey to Tam Vu, before driving back to Ho Chi Minh City.
