  • Visit a unique wine museum at a local winery
  • Tour New Zealand's oldest winery
Taste a variety of delicious wines from world-class wineries in Hawke’s Bay on a 4.5-hour tasting tour from Napier. Visit a winery museum to learn about the wine producing region, and receive 3 drinks per person at Napier's newest boutique cider house.
What to Expect
Visit 3 world-class wineries and explore New Zealand's only winery museum on a half-day tasting tour of Hawke’s Bay and Napier.

Following a hotel pick-up, visit the Mission Estate Winery, New Zealand's oldest winery. Learn the history of the wine estate before sampling their produce. Continue to a 2nd winery to enjoy a tour of the wine museum, and explore the cellars where the red wines are stored. Another tasting follows of mostly premium wines.

The 3rd winery produces wine from both New Zealand’s South Island and North Island vineyards, allowing you to compare the effects that the different climates have on the end result, including a fantastic “terroir” comparison for your consideration.

Time permitting, drive to Gimblett Gravels, which combine the French concept of “terroir” with modern day thinking to define, protect. and market wine. The Gimblett Gravels appellation covers around 800 hectares and is strictly determined by the gravely base deposited by the old Ngaruroro River route.

Continue to Napier’s ale house for the last stop of the day. Select 3 ales that best suit you, and enjoy the setting sun over another drink or two, time permitting. Take the coast road back to Napier for a hotel drop off.
