A unique chance to combine historic Pearl Harbor and a drive around the island of Oahu. The tour honors World War II heroes at the Arizona Memorial Center and provides fantastic photo opportunities of famous surf spots and scenic lookouts along the way.
What to Expect
This moving, full-day historical adventure brings to life the dramatic moment that thrust America into World War II. You will visit the Arizona Memorial Center and Pearl Harbor, before taking a scenic trip around the beautiful island of Oahu.
After your hotel pick-up, your day begins in dramatic fashion, at Hawaii's number one visitor attraction, the extraordinary Arizona Memorial Visitor Center. Last resting place to more than 1,000 sailors, it sits above the sunken remains of the USS Arizona battleship and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989. You will be standing in the shadows of national heroes as you ride the Navy launch across Pearl Harbor, watching out for the black tears of oil that still bubble to the surface to this day.
On board the Arizona Memorial you will get to browse through historic artifacts and watch a fantastic film that will transport you back to that fateful attack on the morning of December 7, 1941. Informed narration throughout the tour comes courtesy of expert, state-certified guides.
Leaving the ghosts of Pearl Harbor behind, you will continue on a scenic trip around the beautiful island of Oahu. Remember to bring your camera, as you will be visiting one of Oahu's most picturesque vistas at the Nu'uanu Pali Lookout, overlooking Windward O'ahu.
You will visit the beautiful Byodo-In Temple, nestled against a striking mountain backdrop, and drive to the rustic town of Haleiwa. You will also visit Dole Plantation villages to learn about the history of Hawaii's famous pineapple production.
After a relaxed break for a no-host lunch at the Polynesian Cultural Center, it is time to move on to some of Hawaii’s most popular surf spots. Watch out for thrill seekers and surfers catching the breaks at Sunset and Waimea Beach, before the return journey to your Waikiki hotel.
