Oslo: Train and Bus Tour to Bergen via Hardangervidda/Fjord

Get off the train in Geilo, then look for the bus (Jaunt Norway sign in the windshield), which has enough space for one suitcase per person. You will have a bit of time for a snack at Geilo before the bus departs at 12:45 (arrival time in Geilo at 11:53). Begin your adventure on an air-conditioned bus as we journey through the Hardangervidda mountain plateau, home to Europe’s largest reindeer population. The plateau rises to 1,500 meters above sea level, where snow can linger until August. Watch the landscape transform as we ascend above the tree line. We will stop at the Vøringsfossen waterfall, a stunning natural wonder with a 182-meter drop. We'll have 20 minutes to admire the waterfall and visit the Fossli Hotel, which has a café and restrooms. After returning to the main road, we’ll enter Storegjeltunnelen, an unusual tunnel featuring a remarkable 360-degree bend carved into the rock. Next, we’ll drive to the charming village of Eidfjord, then continue to the Hardanger Bridge, an engineering marvel standing 55 meters high and spanning 1,380 meters. Upon arrival, a short path leads to a viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the bridge and Eidfjord, with public restrooms available. Just two minutes later, we’ll drive into a short tunnel with a roundabout in the rock. When we exit, we’ll already be on the bridge. Continuing on the other side of the Hardangerfjord, we'll enjoy the natural beauty before passing through the picturesque villages of Øystese and Norheimsund. Lastly, we’ll visit the Steinsdalsfossen waterfall, which stands 50 meters tall, one of Norway's most impressive falls. After exploring the waterfall, we’ll continue our journey to Bergen. The last 1.5 hours will take us through beautiful scenery before arriving in the heart of the city.
