What to Expect
On this wonderful trek to Vietnam's stunning Sapa region, visit 6 villages – Cat Cat, Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, Ta Van, Giang Ta Chai, and Su Pan. The beautiful villages showcase ancient Vietnam with village people still following very traditional ways of life. The villages visited on the trek are home to 3 different minority groups - the Black H’Mong, the Dzay, and Red Dao people.
Night 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai
Your trip begins with pickup from your Hanoi hotel at 20:00. You'll then travel to Hanoi railway station to take the night train to Lao Cai. You'll spend the night on the train in a soft sleeper, air-conditioned 4 person cabin.
Day 2: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (B/L/D)
At approximately 5:30 in the morning your train will arrive in Lao Cai. From here you'll be met by your driver and transferred to your Sapa hotel to enjoy some breakfast. At 10:00 we start trekking to Muong Hoa valley to visit the 3 villages of the H’mong and the Day people including Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, Ta Van. We'll make a stop for lunch along the way. At approximately 15:00 we arrive in Ta Van. Here you'll have some time to explore the village and meet some local people before spending the night in the village with the Day Family.
Day 2: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Sapa (B/L/D)
The day begins with an early rise to enjoy the fresh countryside atmosphere and some breakfast. At 9:30, continue trekking to the next village of Giang Ta Chai, home to the Red Dao people. Along the way, visit the beautiful silver waterfall and see a pretty rattan bridge, then cross the river and go up the mountain to arrive at Su Pan Village.
Day 3: Sapa – Cat Cat – Sapa – Lao Cai (B/L/D)
After breakfast at 9:00, walk to Cat Cat village to visit the H’mong people, see the hydroelectric power station built by the French and visit the silver waterfall. At 11:00, walk back to Sapa and you'll then have free time to explore the town. At 17:00 the bus arrives to take you to Lao Cai station. At Lao Cai you'll have dinner before boarding the overnight train back to Hanoi.
