Discover one of the highlights of the Hanoi area on a full-day trip to the Perfume Pagoda, one of the most important Buddhists sites in Vietnam. Explore the limestone cliffs by boat, the only means of transport that can access the cave.
What to Expect
This full-day tour takes you to the Perfume Pagoda, one of the most important religious sites for Buddhists in Vietnam and a highlight of the Hanoi area. Every spring, after the Vietnamese New Year, thousands of Vietnamese pilgrims come to pray for all the health and prosperity they need to get them through the year.
The pagoda itself is built into limestone cliffs and can only be reached by boat and foot. You will glide along scenic waterways and walk up steep mountain paths, visiting the pagodas and temples that were built in the area over the last centuries.
Following an early morning pick-up at your hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, drive for 2 hours through a lush landscape. You will then join a row-boat trip along the Yen Stream for about 1-hour to Thien Tru Harbor.
Trek up and down up and down the limestone cliffs and tropical forests of the Huong Mountain and visit the main cave. Step by step you will approach Huong Tich Cave on the top of the mountain.
Have lunch at bottom mountain in a local restaurant and continue to the Heaven Kitchen Pagoda and to learn about ancient Buddhist architecture of the Lê Dynasty.
Row back to join your transfer to Hanoi and sit back and relax for the 2-hour road trip to the city center and a hotel drop-off at around 18:00.
