What to Expect
Dive in to the sights, sounds, and smells of Hanoi on a full-day sightseeing tour, and let your local guide show you the best of Vietnam’s capital city.

Begin your tour with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh complex and see the site where he declared Vietnam’s independence in 1945. You’ll also see House 54, where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked from 1954-1958.
In 1958, he moved to the Stilt House, where he stayed until his death in 1969.

Continue on to the Presidential Palace, which was built by the French at the beginning of the 20th century, as the residence of the French Governor-General of Indochina. After declaring Vietnam’s independence, Ho Chi Minh refused to move into the building due to its link with the country’s colonial past.

Drive through the city to the Temple of Literature, built by Emperor Ly Thanh Thong in 1070 to honor Confucius. A university was added to the grounds 6 years later. The university provided education to the royal family and children of the aristocracy.

By now it will be time for a lunch break, and your guide will take you to a restaurant where you can try some delicious local pho or noodle soup.

After lunch, you’ll visit the Museum of Ethnology to learn about Vietnam’s cultural diversity and its ethnic minorities. The museum provides a fascinating insight into the customs and lifestyles of the 54 ethnic groups that live in Vietnam.

You’ll finish your city experience with a walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter and a visit to the Dong Xuan market.
