Full-Day Hanoi City History Tour
What to Expect
Take in the history of Hanoi on a full-day sightseeing tour with a knowledgeable guide. Vietnam’s second largest city and capital showcases many cultural and historical monuments. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda and the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. Enjoy a barbecued pork lunch and find great photo ops of local life in the Old Quarter.
This morning your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel. First stop is to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Just next door is Ho Chi Minh's former house on stilts. Lying to one side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda, built by King Ly Thai To in 1049. The structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi.
Then continue to visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in the city. Then keep walking to Quan Thanh Temple, one of the Four Sacred Temples of the capital.
Keep forward to the Temple Of Literature, constructed in 1070; a temple dedicated to Confucius in Hanoi, Vietnam's first national university. You will then stop for lunch at a local restaurant
After lunch, proceed to visit the Ethnology Museum which focuses on the 54 officially recognized ethnic groups in Vietnam. You can, of course, choose any museum you like to visit in Hanoi.
Later in the afternoon, you'll be transferred to the old quarters to see the daily life of the local people there. It's a great place to explore with plenty of photo opportunities all around you. Your guide will then take you back to your hotel, where your tour will end.
