What to Expect
You will be picked up from your hotel in Hanoi in the morning and drive to Song Phuong Vegetable Village, where you will have the opportunity to do some gardening with local farmers. This will allow you to get in touch with the Vietnamese farmers and learn more about wet rice cultivation. This morning will end with lunch in a local house and you will enjoy local dishes, seasonal vegetable, fruits, and Vietnamese green tea.
In the afternoon, you will visit Thay Pagoda, a complex of temples, communal houses, and a pagoda nestled at the foot of a large limestone cliff formation characteristic of the area. It is said that the traditional water puppet theatre originated here. You will then proceed to Tay Phuong Pagoda situated on top of Buffalo Mountain.
