What people are saying about Hamburg

I got there quite early so I could get some food and drink at a restaurant before boarding. You can check at the kiosk the exact departure time and dock that it leaves from. The boat actually comes in about 1 hour before it departs so you can board early and get a good seat and a beer. The tour is very lovely with views of the old and new harbour. Even though I understand little German intuitively you can get a sense of what is being said and the host is quite funny! Would definitely recommend.

It was a bit difficult to find the right meeting place and the small boat that we had booked on wasn’t running due to high water levels. We were lucky that another larger paddle wheeler was accepting our tickets . The tour was all in German which we knew ahead of time but it was not the route we had bought tickets for. So instead of the canal we got the the shipping port . It was a good evening activity but not what we expected.

We were in Hamburg for work with a client. This Illumination tour that we booked through Get Your Guide was to close our few days work and was a lovely experience. The tour is well organised, a good length and lots of interesting local information shared by the guide. The booking experience in Get Your Guide was very intuitive, easy, fast and efficient. Great online travel service.

Decent boat with friendly employees! The captain is describing the sights and adjusts his commentary to the ships that currently lie in the harbour, this makes it a great experience! We got to see both the city of Hamburg as well as the impressive harbour at the other side of the river! Highly recommended!

Nice tour around the harbour including close encounters with the big container ships which was the most impressive part. Captain knew a lot about the history of the harbour and the current boats and ships in the harbour. The close pass-by with the Elbphilharmonie was also great.
