Meet your friendly guide at Wandrahmsteg Bridge before setting off on your 2-hour tour of Hamburg’s famous Speicherstadt. The Speicherstadt is the largest warehouse district in the world, nestled in Hamburg’s vibrant port. Throughout your tour, explore the rich-history of this bustling hub which for centuries has been a trading center for spices, carpets, coffee, and more. Explore one of the Speicherstadt’s vibrant spice stores and soak up the array of unique sights, scents, and flavors. Learn about the spice-trading industry and how it has played a role in shaping the Speicherstadt. The tour also visits a selection of colorful Oriental carpet stores, craft stores, and chocolate shops, where you can mingle with the locals and shop for souvenirs. The final stop of the tour is a local coffee roasting shop. Whilst there, meet 2-time European Roasting Master, Erik, and learn everything there is to know about the production of coffee. Grundsätzlich war die Führung richtig gut. Hatte ich schon kommentiert/bewertet. Bei der Kaffeeverkostung war "der Typ" (sorry, Name vergessen...)sympathisch und cool -, aber der Kaffee hat mir nicht geschmeckt. Eigentlich keiner von allen Proben! Er war dünn und lauwarm, was nicht verwunderlich ist. Er wurde aufgegossen und stand. Abgeschöpft und stand. Löffelweise in eine Tasse geschüttet und dann erst verkostet. Brrrr! Mein Kaffee muss heiß sein.Aber vermutlich ist auch das Geschmackssache. Fazit: Es war interessant und informativ.

Das Beste kommt zum Schluss. Die Kaffeeverkostung mit dem Vizeröstmeister Deutschlands war kurz und knackig, aber hervorragend. Für den Kaffeeprofi vielleicht entbehrlich, für den fortgeschrittenen Anfänger ein Muss. Hier erzählt ein leidenschaftlicher Kaffeekenner/barista/röster von seiner Liebe. Hier wird nicht ge"disst", sondern bei der Hand genommen ;-) Auch auf der Speicherstadttour feine Ecken gesehen, die ich (als Hamburger) noch nicht kannte. Empfehlenswert Café Burg im Genusskontor ... mmmmh!
