Visit one of Mexico’s grandest churches, Santa Prisca. It was built in 1759 by French immigrant Jose de la Borda who literally stumbled upon a huge silver spring. Discover an ancient pre-Hispanic mine, and learn how the ancient inhabitants extracted precious metals before the conquest.

The trip will begin by picking you up at your accommodation and heading towards Cuernavaca, the City of Eternal Spring, located 90 km from Mexico City. There, you will visit its impressive 16th-century cathedral, one of the first Franciscan constructions in Mexico, whose Indo-Christian style architecture will leave you amazed. After exploring the cathedral, you can enjoy a short break to admire the local handicrafts or savor a delicious coffee. The journey will continue by traveling 80 km to the charming city of Taxco, in the state of Guerrero, also known as the City of Silver. There, you will explore a replica of a mine to understand the relevance of mining in the colonial era and its impact today. Taxco became one of the first mining centers over 400 years ago. After the mine visit, you will enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant, where you can taste a variety of typical regional dishes. Then, you will walk through the picturesque cobbled streets of Taxco, reaching the emblematic Santa Prisca church, a dazzling example of Churrigueresque baroque architecture. Our guide will share with you the fascinating history of the church and its benefactor, considered the richest man in New Spain. You will have the opportunity to visit the numerous silver shops for which Taxco is famous or simply enjoy 30 minutes of free time to explore before boarding our transport back to Mexico City. Cuernavaca, noted for its wonderful climate, is a pretty colonial city not far from the Mexican capital. Stop to see the Palace of Cortés and also the city's cathedral that features murals dating back to the 16th century. Taxco is renowned for silver and you’ll visit one of the top silver workshops to see how the famous jewelry is made. On this stop you’ll be offered tastes of tequila and mescal to try out these popular drinks made from cactus. See Santa Prisca Church, an architectural masterpiece built in the 18th century. Your guide will tell you about the history of the church and its interesting altarpiece. After lunch you’ll have time to explore Taxco on your own, taking in the stunning street scenes or buying silver jewelry from some of the finest craftsmen in Mexico.

Depart Mexico City early in the morning for the transfer to Cuernavaca, acclaimed throughout Mexico as the “City of Eternal Springtime” for its year-round warmth. Upon arrival, you will go to one of oldest cathedrals on the American continent at the Recinto de la Cathedral complex, built by some of the earliest Christian Missions to Mexico in the 16th century. Next, head to the beautiful city of Taxco, known as the "Silver Capital of the World." Visit the famous parish church of Santa Prisca to admire its impressive Churrigueresque style. Then, stroll down cobblestone streets, peering at the silver work of skilled craftsmen. Admire Taxco’s striking cathedral, before enjoying some free time to shop for precious silver at affordable prices in the outdoor markets. Your guide will tell you about the frequent cultural events held at many of the city squares and theaters, and as the the day winds down, take you to one of the bars near the main plaza to enjoy the sunset.

The first stop on your tour will be to the caves of Cacahuamilpa. You will enter through the huge rock door to contemplate the majestic scenery formed by the erosion of the water and the movements of the earth. You will then walk through the corridors and enjoy the sensation of penetrating the mountain to discover figures of animals, faces, buildings, and the customs of the Chontal tribes to honor their gods of the underworld. You will then go to the magical town of Taxco to eat at the Hotel Monte Taxco. After lunch, you can take the cable car (not included). Following this, you will take a walk through the city and visit the oldest mining center on the continent, which still stores silver mines that date back to the Colonial Era. Next, you will visit the ex-convent of San Bernardino and the Temple of Santa Prisca, which is a clear example of the fact that the town still retains its colonial style. The church there, which was built in approximately the 18th century, is of Novo-Hispanic Baroque style. You will then have free time to visit Humboldt House, where the famous German expeditionary stayed, and which is currently home to the Museo del Arte Virreinal. Following this, you will visit the different workshops, goldsmiths, and museums of this city (which is also called the City of Silver). At the conclusion of your educational and cultural day out, you will return to Mexico City at approximately 6:00PM.

We will head towards Cuernavaca, the City of Eternal Spring, to see the Cathedral and how the French Order introduces the Catholic religion to the native Tlauicas. Time to have a coffee and head to the magical town of Taxco de Alarcon. Taxco is a city known as "The Silver Capital of the world" with a "Toledan" architectural style. We will walk through its streets and learn about its legends and religious as well as cultural traditions. We will be able to see the representation of a mine and its silversmith's workshops. Within the tour you will admire the "Jewel of Taxco", which is the church of Santa Prisca, with a baroque style and pink quarry finishes. End of the tour and return to the hotel. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The tour in Taxco begins when you arrive at the store, then the silversmith's workshop, lunch time and the visit to the downtown. (the order could change) All this in an approximate time of 3 and a half hours. IT IS NOT THE 3 FULL HOURS AT TAXCO´S DOWNTOWN.

Once on board, head to a beautiful beach located about 30 minutes from the pier where you will have the opportunity to learn all the important facts about liberating a baby turtle into the Pacific Ocean. Then, your tour will head to the Chapel of Peace perched atop the pricey Las Brisas Hotel with the most exquisite view to the Bay of Acapulco. On your way, you will have the opportunity to admire the exclusive residential area in town. Afterwards, you will be driven along the main avenue to see the housing areas and to make one more stop in the north of the city of Acapulco. Afterward, your tour will head to the city market, the source of vegetables, fruits, beef, chicken, and pork, as your guide explains and elaborates all there is to know about the fantastic market.
