This tour shows all the process of the cacao since it’s a seed until it is transformed into chocolate. You will be picked up in your hotel in Guayaquil by yor tourguide, and start a one hour journey to a small local family owned cacao farm. In the way you will see different cultivations like banana plants, sugar cane or teak wood. Once you get to the local farm, the first acitivity will be walking through the plantation to learn everything about the tree, from the moment is planted to the moment the pods are harvested. In this walk you will also see and try different fruits that are grown next to the cacao. After the walk, you will learn about the fermentation and drying process of the beans and then you will be ready to start your chocolate making experience! You will be using the dried cacao beans and get 100% chocolate paste, which you will try with raw sugar and different things. Finally, you will see how chocolate bars are made and taste the local bars from the farm. When the experience is finished, you will have a 3 course farm to table lunch, and then go back to the city where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
