Antigua Guatemala, commonly referred to as just Antigua or La Antigua, is a city in the central highlands of Guatemala, famous for its well-preserved Spanish Baroque influenced architecture, as well as a number of spectacular ruins of colonial churches.
What to Expect
Your day will start with a hotel pick-up between 8.30 am and 9.00 am from Guatemala City or between 10.00 am and 10.20 am from Antigua Guatemala.
At 10.30 am you'll visit the most important and significant attractions of the city, including the most beautiful old churches, monasteries and monuments including:
'Plaza Central' or Main Plaza in English
Church of San Francisco
'Calle Del Arco' or Arch Street in English
You will also visit the surrounding villages of Antigua Guatemala:
San Antonio Aguas Calientes
San Felipe de Jesus
There will also be an option to buy handcrafts - look out for the amazing handmade pieces of jade, handcrafted as if they were made by the ancient Maya.
At 2.00 pm you'll stop for lunch and at 4.00 pm you will return to Guatemala City, or transfer back to your hotel in Antigua.
