Costa Rica's Guanacaste features a distinctive dry tropical climate and remains largely undiscovered by foreign visitors. Yet it is home to 7 national parks and 3 wildlife reserves: a haven for those with a sense of adventure. For rafters, the Tenorio River is a challenging and exciting river winding through the heart of the forest.
Plunge through twists, turns, and drops down 8 miles of intense and challenging rapids on this rafting adventure. After an initial safety briefing you will be kitted out with lifejackets, helmets, and paddles and begin the trip. All participants should be in a fit state of health and have some rafting experience.
The Tenorio River is one of the most challenging, with a 12-foot drop (class V) as one of its most daunting rapids. In bad weather some of the intense rapids cannot be taken. The trip on the river will take 2.5 hours and includes a river snack at the end. Enjoy fresh fruit, cookies, natural beverages, and water.
After the snack you will drive back to the starting point at the Rincon Corobici Restaurant, around 55 minutes away. Here a delicious hot lunch will be waiting for you.
Do not forget to bring your swimming trunks and comfortable clothes to get wet, rubber sole shoes, a complete change of clothes, and towel. You are advised to wear sun block, sunglasses with secure head straps and, a tight fitting baseball cap or hat.
