We had a slightly different experience due to covid but it turned out for the better! Our guide, Jesús, took us to a local lienzo for a private family-and-friends-only charro practice session. We still got to see charros lasso wild horses and bulls, but not everyone was a professional or dressed in full charro gear. Instead, the atmosphere felt like a big Mexican fiesta with taco, beer, music, and tequila. Everyone was so friendly and very welcoming to us - the only foreigners! Thank you, Jesus, for sharing with us this important Mexican tradition, and I will highly recommend it for anyone visiting Guadalajara.
