Overview
Admire the stunning architecture of Guadalajara and the beautiful handicrafts of Tlaquepaque on a 5-hour sightseeing tour. Stop at landmarks in Guadalajara’s historical downtown and see colonial buildings, cobblestone streets and craft markets.
What to Expect
Discover Guadalajara’s historical downtown, starting with a stop at Plaza de Armas. See the city's twin-towered cathedral with its richly decorated interior of gold-leaf pillars, Gothic vaults and a stained-glass window of the "Last Supper."

Then, head to nearby Liberation Square where you will find beautiful colonial buildings on 2 city blocks. Admire the Instituto Cultural de Cabanas, where drama, dance and music are performed. See more examples of Guadalajara's stunning architecture, including a popular museum of Modernist murals.

Look at the neoclassical Degollado Theater before going to Plaza de la Rotonda on the north side of the cathedral. Here, your guide will tell you about the Rotonda de los Jaliscienses Illustres (Rotunda of the Illustrious People of Jalisco), a circular monument of 20 bronze sculptures honoring Jalisco's best-known architects, writers, composers and scientists.

Next, stroll through the Mercado Libertad (also known as "Mercado San Juan de Dios") to experience the hustle and bustle of one of Mexico’s biggest traditional markets. See local vendors selling traditional candies, flowers, rugs, clothing and leather goods at more than 2,600 stalls.

Then, drive to the small colonial village of Tlaquepaque, just 4 miles (7 kilometers) southeast of downtown Guadalajara. Enjoy some free time to wander the narrow cobblestone streets and admire the beautiful architecture. Purchase a traditional meal and delicious drink for lunch (own expense).

Benefit from the chance to walk around one of Tlaquepaque's arts and crafts markets, where you can find Mexican wood carvings, ceramics, pottery and leather items. Then, return to your hotel in Guadalajara.
