St Paul's Bay: Blue Lagoon, Beaches & Bays Trip by Catamaran
- Duration options: 5 - 6 hours
Your tour begins from the tourist town of Bugibba, where your modern and stable catamaran departs on an unforgettable two-island cruise. From the open sea, you will experience Malta from a truly unique and beautiful vantage point. Cruise close to the coast whilst witnessing Malta’s magnificent naturally formed coastline, including its enormous cliffs, rocky nooks, and crannies. You will pass the tiny Island of St. Paul’s, viewing the statue of the apostle St. Paul as it rises high into the sky. You will also get to visit magnificent sea caves, allowing you the opportunity to take amazing photographs. In the morning (during high season), you will stop for 1 hour at the stunning Crystal Lagoon, a spot many tourists don't know about. The lagoon is fringed by steep cliffs and only accessible by boats. Witness the unbelievably clear water, perfect conditions for swimming, snorkeling, and div...
I will recommend it to my friends. The boat stopped on the best spots. Enough time to see Blue Lagoon, Gozo and Crystal Lagoon. I would recommend to have a guide tour in Gozo in the pack. It was worth the money. Perfect to see everything in one day. Mostly had young adult people, so for me was a plus traveling by myself.
After boarding the catamaran, the first stop will be the Blue Lagoon. The boat will drop anchor away from the crowds, so you can experience the famous turquoise water in peace. During this stop, you can enjoy an optional barbecue. The stops after the Blue Lagoon will depend on the weather. It might be possible to head to the Crystal Lagoon, surrounded by steep dramatic cliffs. Its crystal clear waters are much deeper than the Blue Lagoon, making the area fantastic for snorkeling and swimming in and around the caves. If there is an easterly wind, it’s likely that you’ll visit Ghajn Tuffieha. This is a beautiful rural area, home to a chain of pristine sandy beaches called Golden Bay, Riviera Beach, and Gnejna Bay.
On the way back from Ghajn Tuffieha, an additional stop will be made to discover the film set of Popeye’s Village, tucked away in a charming bay. Other stops ...
If anyone going Malta would definitely recommend sunset worth every penny...Great experience
Depart from the Bugibba Jetty and begin your cruise along the northern coast of Malta. Pass by all of the sights including St. Pauls Islands and the statue of St. Pauls, and Ahrax Point. Continue cruising through the north channel of Comino as you pass by the elephants head, Santa Maria Bay, St. Nicholas Bay, and the Comino hotel. Make quick stops to enter inside both Ahrax Cave and Santa Maria Cave. Throughout the journey, Kevin and his father, Captain Joe, will inform you about the sites and give you information regarding Malta. After approximately 1 hour, arrive on Comino island in the famous Blue Lagoon. The boat will moor up and you can enjoy a stop of 1.5 hours. During your time, feel free to use all the facilities on board the boat or get off and explore the island. Relax and sunbathe on the top deck or find some shade on the main deck. Take a refreshing plunge into the cool, cr...
The best in Malta so far! :))) thank you Hornblower crew for this amazing experience.

Then, head to the Qala Belvedere for panoramic views across the sea. Get back to nature in the Simar Valley and visit the pretty resort town of Ramla Bay. See ruins at Calypso's Cave, or explore the temple complex of Ġgantija (own expense). Discover the typical fishing village of Xlendi Bay, visit one of the oldest settlements at Kercem Heights and marvel at the rock formations of Dwejra. Get up close to the salt pans on the north coast near the beach resort of Marsalforn Bay.

A great day is had well organised from start to finish. Lunch was perfect and we got to see a lot of Gozo in one day.
Your combination tour begins with pickup from your hotel from where you will be taken to the Gozo Ferry for a 20-minute crossing from the island of Malta to Gozo. Once arriving in Gozo, your experience may start with either the jeep tour or the boat trip. Enjoy lunch between your activities. On the jeep tour venture to a high point to view the Three Islands of the Maltese Archipelago. Following that, you will drive through the valleys and back streets to discover the real island, as you pass through areas where no bus or taxi can pass. The advantage of the jeep is that you have a driver for every 5 to 6 people, allowing the trip to be very personal. As lunchtime approaches, it will be time to stop into a local restaurant for a freshly-prepared buffet lunch, all washed down by some chilled Gozo wine and local fruit. On your boat trip board your wonderful twin-masted schooner for a lovely...
Awesome cruise- so worth the little money spend. The ride with the already a bit old jeeps is very adventurous but it was also a lot of fun. I found the stops too short. The jeep driver and boat staff are nice.
Get an adrenaline rush on a one-of-a-kind adventure tour for thrill seekers. Be taken to the beautiful island of Gozo by powerboat to avoid the queuing at the ferry terminal and experience it all from a different perspective. Ride around the island on a Quad Bike in the company of very experienced tour leaders. See all the highlights of the island, from the stunning viewpoint of the Qala Belvedere and the rugged landscapes of the Simar Valley and Ramla Valley. Go to Calypso Cave and the village of Marsalforn. See the Traditional Saltpans and drive through the Ghasri Valley. Discover the incredible Inland Sea of Dwejra and the small islet of Fungus Rock. Take a swimming break and get some time to shop. Then, take a powerboat back to Malta via the Blue Lagoon and Comino Caves.
The full-day quad bike tour of Gozo was amazing!! The whole tour was organised to perfection: we have been picked up outside our hotel in Sliema, and dropped at the harbour to the boat to Gozo. We got to see most of Gozo, that's magical! I would definitely recommend it, especially if you are travelling between January and March, as the island is greener (but the sun is still shinning) and less tourists at this time of the year.
Discover genuine Maltese charm and experience the true Malta as you cruise along the island's rugged coastline to reach Gozo and Comino Island. Your tour begins from the town of Bugibba, where your sailing boat will depart at 10:30 AM. Cruise past St. Paul's Island, Mellieha Bay, and Smuggler's Cove Cave on your way to Gozo. Upon arrival, disembark the boat and enjoy 3 hours of free time to explore the island. You may choose to take a minibus tour or simply stroll around, discovering the island's landmarks, such as caves and fishing villages, at your own pace. In the afternoon, head to Comino Island, where you can explore the island, swim near the boat or take a walk along one of the island's white sandy beaches. Head to the famous Blue Lagoon where you can snorkel in crystal-clear waters. Later, while cruising back to Bugibba, enter the Santa Maria caves and see the “Elephants Head”, ...
Enjoyed the experience on board the boat. El Capitan provided knowledge and places to see while travelling. Opted for the minibus tour of Gozo, which was fun and the driver also provided some local knowledge. Good experience and way to spend a day in Malta and swimming was a good time as well!
Cross to the tiny island of Gozo to enjoy a 10-hour sightseeing tour of the sister island of Malta. Drive to Xlendi Bay, a popular beach and an ideal diving site. Tour the fishing village and harbor, where fishing vessels bob. Your next stop is the historic fortified city of The Citadella in the heart of Victoria. Also called The Citadel, it is on Malta's tentative list of future UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and contains an old prison within the city walls. Stop for a buffet lunch in Rabat, before seeing the Ta' Pinu Basilica, close to the village of Gharb. Finally, drive to Mgarr Port via Qala Belvedere, where breathtaking scenes await.
Day started with a very easy pick up from the local hotel and then a very short ride north to the ferry. Crossing was seamless and second air-conditioned coach was there to pick up. Tour takes in all the major places to visit and we never felt rushed with plenty of time to take everything in. Local guide was excellent and very attentive to everyone’s needs. Lunch was very nice with both water and wine included. Trip back to hotel at the end of the day was also very easy with hotel drop offs well planned and timed. I would definitely recommend this excursion if you are only going to Goso for the day
Cruise in style and comfort on a luxurious sailboat on a full-day trip from Bugibba at 10:30 AM. After morning departure from the Bugibba Jetty, you’ll head off towards Gozo and the Blue Lagoon. On your way, cruise along St. Paul’s Island, viewing the sites of nearly 2,000 year old shipwrecks, as well as the Smuggler’s Cove, famed as a location for diving. Your first stop is the Santa Maria Bay, a secluded bay on the island of Comino. Drop anchor and relax for 1.5 hours, with the option for some snorkeling, swimming, or simply sunbathing on the boat’s deck. Afterwards, it’s off towards Comino’s famous Blue Lagoon. With its crystal-clear, azure waters and volcanic rock formations, the Blue Lagoon is one of Malta’s natural treasures. With 2.5 hours to spend at the lagoon, head on to the beach, snorkel among the coral reefs, or take some time to explore the island — it’s up to you. If you...
I think it must start 60 or 45 minutes earlier. To experience the caves shall be 15 mins. More and will be better advertised as it is a stunning experience highly recommended As I think it is better to start earlier so automatically there will be more time ti stay at Commino
Depart at 11: 00 AM from the town of Bugibba and journey towards the island of Comino by boat. Enjoy the incredible views of Malta from the open sea and cruise close to the shore to check out the island's magnificent coastline and enormous rugged cliffs. Pass the tiny St. Paul’s Island and catch sight of the statue of the apostle Saint Paul that rises high into the sky. Stop to view the island's alluring sea caves and photos before getting underway again. Arrive at the famous Blue Lagoon, where the crisp turquoise waters are clearer than a swimming pool, making it a must-see stop on a hot summers day. Then it's anchors away, as you head to the island of Gozo. Upon arrival on Gozo Island, enjoy three hours of free time to fill as you wish, or opt to purchase a land-transport ticket for a small added charge. The land transport will take you to one of two fabulous locations where you will ...
Boat trip was great, spectacular coastline and two excellent locations to swim in the sea (blue lagoon and another, quieter bay further along the island) Gozo 'sightseeing' trip was a bit of a misnomer - for an additional €5 we were taken to Gozo Town in a minivan, where the surly driver informed us we had to be back at the pick up point for 16:30. This gave us enough time to find the citadel and have a wandering around (which was very good) before heading back to the minivan. I'm pretty sure a couple of folk were left behind because they didn't get back in time. Then off to the blue lagoon to have an hour before heading back to Bugibba.

new stylish boat (katamaran) with lots of sunbeds and seats (sun and shadow). friendly crew, nice drinks and cocktails for a fair price. BBQ (optional) was tasty & freshly prepared on board and a nice option after swimming.
A great and worthwhile excursion. Unfortunately the weather wasn't perfect. The places we drove to were great for swimming and snorkeling. The return trip was characterized by waves, which I thought was great.
Very enjoyable trip! Places we stopped for swimming and snorkelling were lovely. Plenty of fish to look at underwater! :) Friendly staff and a nice new boat - clean and comfortable.
Great tour!! Takes you to all the well known swimming spots. Definitely get the add on barbecue as you will get very hungry.
Brilliant day out. Enough time in each spot and lovely BBQ. Make sure you get there early to get a good spot.
