Spend a day exploring the pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the necropolis of Sakkara and the former capital of Memphis on a private tour from Cairo. Learn history from your Egyptologist guide, enjoy a local lunch, and pay a visit to a papyrus workshop.
What to Expect
Travel from Cairo to see the major sites of ancient Egypt on a private, full-day trip. Visit the pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the necropolis of Sakkara, and the former capital of Memphis.
Head first to the Giza Plateau where you will see the 3 famous pyramids of Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure. Listen as your Egyptologist guide provides historical insight, and then use free time to explore on your own. You may opt to visit the inside of a pyramid or go for a camel ride. Then continue across the plateau to the imposing statue of the Sphinx, the enigmatic symbol of Egypt.
The next stop is the oldest pyramid at Saqqara in Egypt, which was built in 2650 BC. Learn about this step pyramid and take some time to examine it up-close.
The last stop of the tour is Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. Here you can admire ruins and statues of the great rulers of ancient Egypt, including the fallen statue of Ramses II. You will also have the opportunity to visit a papyrus workshop.
