What People Are Saying About Giverny
Kit was the ideal guide. An Artist, historian and true story telling. The whole package of bike riding, small village experience, picnic and Kit's narration and story telling approach was a highlight of our time in Europe. Do it!
You MUST take this tour! We took a train into Giverny with our tour guides. When we arrived, our (phenomenal) tour guide, Robin, walked us into a little shopping square with mom and pop shops and a farmer's market. She taught us a few key phrases and then asked us to go around to buy items for our picnic. After we purchased all our locally made and grown breads, cheeses, meats, and cider, we took a Bike ride to park where we had beautiful views of a pond and a small house built in the 1600s. After a delicious lunch we took a bike ride through a bike path to Monet's garden. The bike route was so beautiful and breathtaking. We got to see why Nonet was so inspired by this beautiful French countryside. Lastly, our tour guide Robin was fantastic. She was the most knowledgeable guide I ever had and was simply a delight to be around. Please take this tour! I would give it more stars if I could!
An excellent leisurely day in which we got to visit the morning market in Vernon to stock up for the picnic by the river en route to the magical gardens at Giverny. Our guide, Kit, was entertaining and extremely knowledgeable about art and history. The pace of the day was relaxed, the cycling easy and the company pleasant. Highly recommended.
I have always loved Monet and dreamed of visiting the French countryside. This tour was above and beyond my expectations. The picnic in the park, the visit to the open air market for the picnic ingredients, the biking and the quiet, thoughtful delivery of our tour guide, Johnny. Excellent. I also appreciated the breaking down of the 22 person group to two small groups. Only 10 people in ours and it was ideal.
Extremely well organized from initial meeting at the train station until good byes at the day's end. Guides well organized, great sense of humor and patient with us older folks. Would highly recommend to anyone - highlight of our Paris holiday.
