  • Vatican City: VIP Vatican Experience

    3. Vatican City: VIP Vatican Experience

Enrich your Vatican experience by joining this personal, semi-private tour where you can delve into the fabulous art and history that surrounds the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica. You will begin at the Vatican Museum, a labyrinthine complex featuring over 1000 rooms that cover four millennia. Those visiting unguided often find themselves dazzled by the work on display here – which can make it somewhat difficult to navigate. But this curated route through the museum packs in all the best bits. The next stop is the world-famous Sistine Chapel, best-known for its sprawling ceiling art painted by Michelangelo. The rules dictate silence upon entry to the chapel, which isn’t usually a problem – its sheer beauty leaves most speechless.

What an amazing tour! This was my second time at the Vatican Museum and it was breathtaking. Maria, our guide was informative, fun and engaging. The small group allowed her to give us a lot of attention and interact with each other. Three hours felt like such a short time and at the end of the tour I wandered by myself in awe of this magical place. If you want to savour the experience, this is the right way to do it.

This was sold as a gardens, museum and sistine chapel tour. The time changed and when we showed up for the new time for the garden tour, a representative walked us to a bus and walked away. She never introduced herself or explained anything. The garden “tour” was a tape, but the bus driver did bot keep in step with the tape. After the tour we were ushered off the bus and did not know where to go or what to do. The new “directions” suggested we visit the Sistine chapel before or after our next meeting with a GetYourGuide person. It was about an hour and a half lter that we went to the GetYourGuide office, which was packed with people. Our guide from there was nice, but it was chaotic.

Highly recommend - Barbera is the best! Wow! This was even better than I could have hoped for, thanks to our unforgettable guide Barbera. Barbera was a FANTASTIC, ENGAGING, and SUPER FUN guide... truly, I don't think it gets better (and I am a former tour guide myself.) She led the tour with the perfect balance of teaching us important facts but also making it a memorable experience, filled with laughter. I like the fact that she is a native Roman and so it really felt like he was teaching us about her own history. We felt very looked after by her and she was so great at truly connecting with everyone in our group, and answering all our questions. We were smiling the entire time. So grateful for the experience and I thought it was worth every penny. Bravo!

What an amazing tour! This was my second time at the Vatican Museum and it was breathtaking. Maria, our guide was informative, fun and engaging. The small group allowed her to give us a lot of attention and interact with each other. I enjoyed it so much and will be recommending it to my friend who is coming next month! Thank you again Barbara for an amazing day
