Enjoy a boat trip from the island of Madeira that takes you out to sea in search of dolphins, whales, and turtles in their natural habitat. Stop for a swim below the cliffs of Cabo Girão and enjoy drinks and snacks back on board.
What to Expect
One of the most popular activities on Madeira is a catamaran trip in search of dolphins and whales. During the 3-hour trip there’s a good chance of spotting whales and dolphins along the way.

Madeira’s position means that different species of dolphins, whales, and turtles migrate through its waters at different times of the year.

If the winds are favorable the sails are hoisted which adds to the fun and creates a unique relaxing sensation. During the summer months it’s possible to stop for a swim below the cliff of Cabo Girão, which at 580 meters high, is one of the highest sea cliffs in the world.

The boats are equipped with toilets as well as a bar where you can get some drinks and snacks. The crew members are professional and friendly, and while ensuring your safety and comfort they also offer information about sea life and historical facts about the island.

Tours head out twice daily, in the morning and then in the afternoon, every day of the year. In the summer months you’ll need to book well in advance as the tours sell out quickly.
