What People Are Saying About Funchal

Amazing views and the perfect way to get to Monte Village

This is a must-do in Funchal. First go to the Botanical Garden and from there take the Cable Car to Monte village. The views of the mountains, the forests, the city, the bay and the ocean are amazing. On the way back we get the same amazing views. It is a really relaxed and comfortable way to see the bay of Funchal. The price was perfect and our voucher was accepted with no problems.

A really great expereience, not to be missed.

After an introductory talk on what to expect on the trip we headed off to the boat - a 12 seater RIB and headed off into the Atlantic. The trip out on this powerful craft was very exhilarating but things got really interesting when we ran into a pod of sperm whales complete with young calves. We stayed around for a good while and watched while they blew and dived and splashed their tails. A truly magnificent site. On the return trip we found some dolphins which swam along side the boat and jumped out of the water. It was a truly memorable experience. Five stars.

Very enjoyable, interesting and informative

A very pleasant trip, unusual for the kind of boat we used. We had the chance to see both dolphins and whales, and our guide made sure that we didn't just enjoy what we were seeing, she also gave us a lot of interesting information about the animals we saw.

A recommendation for everyone visiting Funchal

We have seen a turtle and two dolphins - no whales. The trip was ultimately fun with the opportunity to swim at one of the highest seacliffs of the world. Would do it anytime again.
