What People Are Saying About Funchal

Used the return transfer and was very pleased with the service.

Driver was waiting for the four of us at the airport with our names on a placard. Within minutes we were in the van and on our way to the hotel. A week later driver arrived at the hotel nice and early and transferred us to the airport with absolutely no problems. Very comfortable vans used for both trips.

Excellent. Guide was superb. An extrêmely knowledgeable young student

A gréât way to learn all about Madeira's history while exploring the old town. Lots of things pointed out which you would miss on your own and would not find in a guidebook. Small group - we were on our own! - with a friendly, extremely knowledgeable young guide who was also good fun.

Stunning Scenery Fantastic Guide Phillip

We had a fantastic day on the East Tour and Levada Walk. Phillip was a fantastic guide and ensured he gave us all the information to enjoy our day. His knowledge of the island and explanations of the microclimate were second to none. There was such diversity in the scenery and the mountain views were breathtaking we feel very lucky to have seen them. Lunch was included in this tour and it was in a restaurant that was set in to the rock, the food and the service were very good. The day passed very quickly and all too soon we were back down to the hustle and bustle of Funchal. Once again top marks to Phillip for ensuring our party had a great day.

An old sailing ship, a parrot with cake and wine - perfect!

This was three hours well spent on an amazing replica ship, with crew going up into the crows nest to release the sails which gave a really good feel for what it must have been like in days gone by. We saw Bottle Nose Dolphins and Common Dolphins and I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a turtle. There was a lot of fun as we all kept our eyes glued to the ocean and waited for someone to call "here on this side" or "over there". The crew had extremely sharp eyes and helped lots for us to take pictures and catch the dolphins in their natural habitat. We stopped for those who wanted to have a dip in the ocean and there were some who did. This was a lovely relaxing way to spend 3 hours after all the sightseeing we had done that week and was such fun and it is truly worth the money. I mustn't forget there was a parrot to add to the authenticity of the whole thing.
