Full description
Discover Martinique's impressive history, architecture, culture, and art on this tour. This excursion has a lot to offer including a guided visit to a famous pottery village, a recently renovated church, a local fruit market, a unique adventure at a rum distillery, and a beach break. Meet your guide in Fort de France or Schoelcher and climb aboard your comfortable air-conditioned transportation. After a 30-minute ride, you'll arrive at Les Trois Ilets where the famous pottery village is. Take a 30-minute stroll through the market where local artists have their workshops. Admire their art and craftsmanship and maybe pick up a great souvenir to take back home Then, head to Les Anses d’Arlet, a village in a tranquil cove. Here, you can choose between a visit to the recently renovated bell tour of the church that is situated directly in front of the beach or take a beach break, and relax on the fine white sand, go for a swim or even snorkel. All snorkel gear is included and you can go explore the colorful sea life of Martinique. Once you've soaked up the sun you will be on your way to a viewpoint overlooking Diamond Rock. The island reflects the light in such a way that it appears to be a giant precious stone, making it a wonderful photographic opportunity. Take some pictures and admire the fascinating scenery. Then, you will head to Cap 110, a memorial erected in memory of slavery. This Memorial consists of 15 busts arranged triangularly, to represent the slave trade triangle between The Americas, Europe, and Africa. Next, make a stop at a local market to discover local fruits, spices and much more. Note that the market is closed on Mondays. Finally, you don't have the full experience of Martinique without sampling their famous rum. Your final stop will be at a local rum distillery. At Trois Rivieres Distillery, you will learn about their special white and aged vintage rums that have been on the market since 1976. Enjoy a sample and purchase your favorite liquor along with local coconut products. Once you have completed your Martinique experience you return to your starting point.
