What to Expect
Escape from the crowds of Florence and discover the peaceful countryside outside of the city. This full-day tour comprises of a visit to Vinci, the hometown of Renaissance genius, Leonardo Da Vinci, a trip to a winery, and a drive through the Lucca countryside.
After being collected from your hotel in Florence, head towards Vinci. En route you will visit a traditional farmhouse and view the production and packaging process of Italian extra virgin olive oil. Afterwards take a tour around a local winery and sample some of the finest red Chianti Montalbano around.
A few glasses later, and feeling merry with the flavors of Italy’s finest grape, travel to Vinci’s historical center and visit Leonardo’s home and the Leonardo museum. You will learn about Da Vinci, his inventions, and his role upon the Renaissance movement. This provides a useful context for viewing some of the important Renaissance attractions back in Florence.
In the afternoon drive through the countryside of Lucca passing the summer villas. Traveling along the quiet roads, a beautiful villa will suddenly present itself to you from behind the trees, complete with landscaped gardens and an impressive facade.
