What to Expect
Enjoy the charm of Tuscany’s Chianti region, known around the world for its famous wine, and also for its landscape of vineyards and olive and cypress groves surrounding churches, castles, and ancient villages.
On your arrival at the wine estate your visit will begin at the castle and take in the gardens and the winery’s historical cellar, where barrels of the world-renowned Chianti Classico are stored. At the end of the visit you’ll have the opportunity to taste a selection of fine wines and enjoy a snack.
The next stop on the tour is Greve, where you’ll visit its historic square, flanked by open galleries. Wander around the shops to see what’s on offer–typically products of the Chianti region.
Castellina is next on the itinerary. This is an ancient hamlet, characteristic of Chianti. It’s situated on a hill between expanses of vineyards and olive groves.
In the evening, you’ll travel to San Donato in Poggio, an ancient fortified settlement that dates to the 11th century. In a typical tavern in the magical atmosphere of this small village, you will be served a delicious Tuscan dinner that features a Florentine T-bone steak and is accompanied by an excellent Chianti wine.
You’ll be amazed at the portion of steak on your plate! A 36-ounce tender and tasty steak from Tuscan farms will be served per 2 persons.
