Full description
The Uffizi tour is an absolute must when visiting Florence. Known as the oldest museum in the world, Uffizi built in 1560 by the famous renaissance arch. G Vasari originally had a different purpose. The grand duke of Tuscany Cosimo I de Medici decided to re-establish the authority of the Medici family. Unlikely the other regions of Italy in Florence money meant power. The great industries of Florence such as the art of wool, silk, bankers etc. had a huge influence on the politics in Florence. After Cosimo I eliminated most of his rivals he decided to collect the rest of them in one single building and give to each of them an office. In fact, Uffizi means offices. Cosimo's idea was to keep his eyes and his ears on all them. After Cosimo's death his children lost interest in politics that is why his eldest son, Francesco I brought his private collection of art works and made from this place a private museum. That’s why Uffizi is considered the oldest museum in the world. In our Uffizi tour with our professional English-speaking guide you will not only get the benefit of saving your time, but you have the advantage of acquiring the inside stories behind some of the most notable masterpieces conserved in Florence. After your Uffizi tour, you will are welcome to enjoy some refreshments in the cafeteria while taking in the unique stunning view of the Uffizi Gallery's terrace where you are more than welcome to relax and take pictures. Botticelli, Leonardo, Caravaggio, Giotto, Piero della Francesca, Raffaello, Cimabue etc. Starting from XIII century, the beauty was born in Florence and lies in the eyes of the one who sees.

Marie Greco, our tourist guide fascinated us for more than 2 hours during our visit to the Uffizi Gallery. She knows how to select the essential works and explain them in a captivating way. In addition, she is unbeatable on other works. Its tempo is perfect (we do not make the visit at a run but it takes the necessary time to appreciate the works presented). Our two children aged 10 and 7 have not seen the time passed! Marie being accessible and benevolent, they asked her lots of questions and she always found answers at their level. Thank you Marie for your visit which delighted us!
