What to Expect
Discover one of the most renowned and photographed squares in the world, the Piazza Signoria. Home to sculptural masterpieces of the Loggia dei Lanzi, along with the elegant Palazzo Vecchio, this wonderful square has been at the centre of Florence’s history and culture for centuries.
Begin with the imposing Palazzo Vecchio (Old Palace), Florence’s town hall. This large stone palace dates back to the 14th century, and its impressive tower rises high above the square and into the Florence sky.
Inside the palace you will see its elegant courtyard, the beautiful Salone del Cinquecento, and wonderful frescoes by famous Renaissance painters.
From there, explore the Loggia dei Lanzi, an open building connected to the Uffizi Gallery. Admire its elegant arches from afar before stepping into an open-air museum of antique and Renaissance sculpture.
See original sculptures and replicas of works by Donatello, Michelangelo and Cellini, and take in the atmosphere and energy of this amazing square.
