We did the duomo tour first and our guide was excellent, easy to understand and full of knowledge. The guide we had for the cathedral tour was not very informative and her English was not good. The other couple in the tour asked me if we were getting anything of what she was saying because they couldn’t understand either. She pretty much just pointed to the stuff in the cathedral and that was it, that was the whole tour. We could have done that by ourselves (specially since the morning duomo tour gave us to a of information!)

The thread cutter does not work on weekends and we waited a long time before returning home. Inside it was fine, we could look quietly but access to the Cupola was hampered by a rope so we could see it from further away.

The tour guide spoke very softly and indistinctly, you could only understand her with the utmost concentration, although she took off her mask in the cathedral. The lecture was an endless list of years and not very structured, one would have liked to have deepened important topics. The tour started on time, you could enter the cathedral without waiting and were also let into protected areas, e.g. under the dome.
