What to Expect
We’ll take you on a drive through the south of Tuscany to visit some of the oldest hill towns in the region. Our driver will pick you up at your Florence hotel and you’ll spend a full-day in comfort as you experience the beautiful scenery and stop to taste some of the delicious wines and cheeses produced here.
Your first stop will be to visit the town of Cortona, which is best known for its Etruscan ruins, dating from the 2nd century B.C. This is now a well-to-do town that has managed to preserve its structures from medieval times. A number of popular movies were filmed in Cortona, including "Under the Tuscan Sun" and “New Moon”.
In the afternoon your driver will take you to yet another beautiful place - the city of Montepulciano, a city set amid rolling hills. You’ll have time to wander its streets and to taste the well-known red wine produced here - "Nobile di Montepulciano".
As we make our way back to Florence we'll visit Pienza, a famous Renaissance town, where we stop so you can taste the local pecorino cheese. Along the way you’ll enjoy views of Val d'Orcia, one of Tuscany’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
