Full description
Not far from Florence you’ll find Chianti, famous for both its wine and beautiful countryside – and there is no better way to experience the beauty of Chianti than by taking our guided deluxe van tour. Having been picked up from your hotel in Florence in the early afternoon, your driver tour escort will whisk you away to the winding roads and rolling hills of Chianti, considered to be some of the most beautiful countryside in Tuscany. For centuries these hills were used as battlefields for wars between Siena and Florence, but now they are used simply to make Chianti Classico, one of the best wines Italy has to offer. As you travel the stunning countryside, take in information about art, history, wine, food, and local traditions from your officially-licensed guide. You will have your first chance to taste some of the local product during a visit to Greve in Chianti, a charming, quiet town situated in the heart of the Chianti wine district. Here, apart from taking in the sights and enjoying the serenity, you can take part in an optional wine tasting. But our tour isn’t all about wine. Along the way we will also take you to Castle of Montefioralle, an 11th century village that is one of, if not the, most ancient in Chianti. This beautiful hamlet is still enclosed within its original walls, making it one of the real gems of this beautiful area. When you’ve had your fill of fine wine and gorgeous Tuscan countryside, we’ll take you back to your hotel – a no-fuss end to a perfect day in wine-lovers' paradise.
