From Lisbon: Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré & Óbidos Full-Day Tour

2. From Lisbon: Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré & Óbidos Full-Day Tour

Taking a pilgrimage to Fátima is an event of a lifetime. Here, in 1917, 3 children were blessed with the apparition of the Virgin Mary, and today you can visit this astonishing Basilica built in her honor. During your tour, your guide will help point out the most important points of interest. The newest church in this complex, the Most Holy Trinity (2007) is one of the largest Christian churches in the world, and well worth the time to visit. You will also have the chance to spend time in other holy sites of the region, including Nazaré. Here you can relax a bit with its beautiful beaches and lovely cuisine. After a stop for lunch, head to Batalha monastery (Entrance included), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These monuments are incredibly well preserved, given their nearly 600 years of life. They are wonders to experience, and make for some wonderful photo opportunities. Finally, end in Óbidos, the beautiful and ancient Medieval village in the hills of Portugal. Walk along the fortified walls and enjoy the typical drink of the region - Ginja served in a chocolate cup! After your tour you will be dropped off at one of two locations in central Lisbon, either Restauradores or Marquês de Pombal. Please note, this tour is available only on Mondays and Fridays.

Very enjoyable

Glad we booked this tour. I went along with my sister who wanted to see Fatima, but we seen so much more. Guide was very good, although his English was not perfect and he did spend some time speaking in his native language (Russian) to a Russian couple, although it was supposed to be an English tour. He was funny though and very friendly. Would have liked to have been dropped back off at the hotel, which would only have taken another 5 minutes, instead of in the centre of Lisbon.

Simply amazing and breathtaking sights but was somewhat rush

Amazing trip! I would highly recommend Fatima to the Catholics and to spend more time there. This trip only allowed us 2 hours of which most time was spent waiting for other passengers' shopping leaving less time for the Fatima sanctuary. Lessons learnt is to manage expectations of all passengers so that time is not wasted on waiting for others. Rest of other places such as Bathalha and Obidos are beautiful.

Very Enjoyable

On January 13, 2017, we took a tour to Fatima. Our tour guides were Michaela and Patricia. They were superb guides. They were informative, kind, and funny. Because of their efforts we thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Kudos to the two of them. They are an asset to their company, Cooltour Lisbon.

well managed, timely and guide professional

very pleasant day with sufficient diversity in smallish locations. main goal was intro. to Fatima and sufficient time was allocated

On the whole it was good, but I wish we had an itinerary of day beforehand, so we'd know the programme of the day.
