What to Expect
If you’ve been interested in sailing but just haven’t taken a course yet, join us on a half-day sailing baptism. We’ll teach you the basics and then give you a chance to try out your new skills in the Ria Formosa lagoon of the Algarve.

You’ll marvel at the power of the wind as it moves you along this spectacular seascape. This is a chance to experience the beauty of the Ria Formosa, a group of barrier islands linked to the sea by 6 inlets.

You and your family or group of friends will learn to sail together, with the hands-on guidance of our expert instructors. Your new skills will immediately be put to the test on the 7.5-meter “Calca-Mar”, a Jeanneau One Design 24 sailboat with a capacity of 6 passengers.

What to Remember
We recommend the following:

- You may wish to bring a small snack
- Bring plenty of drinking water to avoid dehydration
- Wear casual clothes and comfortable shoes suitable for water sports, such as sailing shoes or similar footwear with slip-resistant soles
- A wind-stopper and a waterproof coat are useful if not essential, as are suitable gloves
- A rucksack or backpack to carry a small snack, sunglasses, a hat and a good sunscreen. A camera is a very good idea.

Safety comes first, so please follow the instructions and recommendations of your skipper, especially those relating to safety issues.
