48 hours in LA

There’s so much to love about Los Angeles –– the sun, the sea, and of course, the (movie) stars. One of the most exciting cities in the world, this is where dreams are made. And if you’re looking for a dreamy 48 hours in the city of angels, look no further. We’ve put together an itinerary full of iconic landmarks, invigorating activities, and fun (lots and lots of it).

Day 1

9am:

There’s more to LA than Hollywood A-listers, but what better way to ease yourself into la-la land than with a Hollywood open-air bus tour. See where the rich and famous live, hang-out, and party. Take in the glamor of Beverly Hills and cruise down Sunset Boulevard with the sun on your face. Full of glitzy history and legendary myths, this whimsical tour also takes you to the top of the Hollywood Hills for a souvenir photo opportunity with the famous sign. Did somebody say, “lights, camera, action?”

11am:

After a blockbuster of a start to the day, you’ll probably be feeling a little hungry. This is why Downtown LA is our next stop. Take your pick of the best bakeries, authentic eateries, and hidden gems of the foodie universe. From tacos to BBQ to maple bacon doughnuts (yes, you read that correctly), get ready for a real taste of LA. Tick off these must-try foods in Los Angeles as you go.

3pm:

Now you’re fully re-charged, it’s time to discover where the magic happens because we’re headed to Warner Bros. Studiosone of the best things to do in LA. Home of Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, Batman, and Lord of the Rings (among others), you’ll get a revealing look at your favorite TV shows and movies from behind the camera. Re-enact a scene from “Friends” on the iconic “Central Perk” set, design your own Batmobile, and climb aboard Harry Potter’s broomstick.

7pm:

It’s already been an action-packed first day, but there’s still time for a Hollywood ending. And just when you thought it couldn’t get much more exciting, we’re hopping into a chopper for a Los Angeles at Night 30-Minute Helicopter Flight. Prepare to be mesmerized by the shimmering lights of LA at dusk, and if you need to fit this in earlier in the day, a helicopter flight is one of the best activities to do in LA on a summer’s day.

Day 2

10am

Just like the Beach Boys sang in their famous song, in California, “everybody’s going surfin.” So let’s dive right in with a 2-hour group surf lesson on Venice Beach. Between the ocean, the surrounding hills, and the weather, LA is one of the best places on the planet for outdoor activities, and a quick splash is a great way to start the day.

If you’d prefer to stay on dry land, the Santa Monica and Venice 3-Hour Electric Bike Tour might be more your thing. Hop on a Pedego beach cruiser and enjoy a fun ride along the beaches, including Muscle Beach and Venice skatepark.

3:30pm

After yesterday’s look behind the scenes, it’s time to go center-stage (sort of) and strike a pose. The Melrose Instagram tour takes you on a journey to some of the most Instagrammed locations in the world. Once you’ve got your perfect shot in front of Paul Smith’s Pink Wall, meander through Melrose to take in everything from (in)famous street art to retro clothing shops and cat-filled coffee shops. It’s safe to say that comfy footwear and a fully-charged phone are both must-haves for this experience.

8pm

It’s your last evening so before you head to dinner how about a look at a different side of the city? The Los Angeles ghost tour takes you through 8-12 sites around the Hollywood Boulevard area. Marvel at the famous, oft-photographed buildings on the city’s Walk of Fame and delve into the ghostly presences that haunt the boulevard to this day.

More incredible things to do:

Universal Studios

If you’re in the mood for some 3D, blow-your-socks-off kinda fun, say no more. Bringing the very best of our film and television screens to life, Universal Studios has something for everyone. The Studio Tour includes the exciting finale of Fast and Furious: Supercharged, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, plus a DreamWorks Theatre featuring Kung Fu Panda and Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.

Griffith Park Experience & Hollywood Hills Hike

Hike through the Hollywood Hills to a vantage point with stunning panoramic views. Watch the sun sink slowly into the ocean, and the twinkling lights of Los Angeles light up the night. The perfect trip to get an entirely different perspective of this bustling city (and some exercise after all those tacos).
