All this diversity of habitat makes the region an ideal place for bird-watching. Grab a hold of your telescope and binoculars and get ready to see species like the statuesque white stork, the beautiful black kite, the thrilling booted eagle or the charming bee-eater. If you're lucky, you might even observe a little bustard or a black-bellied sandgrouse in the cereal steppes, or a spoonbill and little egret found in some of the smaller dams.
