What to Expect
Journey along Argentina National Route 11 heading towards Los Glaciares National Park. Pass the edge of the main body of Lago Argentino, the largest freshwater lake in Argentina. Continue towards the Rico branch of the lake, and then stop at the entrance of Los Glaciares National Park to pay the entrance fee.
Once inside the park, go to the “Curva de los Suspiros” (“Curve of Sighs”) and get off the vehicle in order to see the Perito Moreno Glacier for the first time. Continue to the Muelle Bajo las Sombras ("Pier Under the Shadows") where you can sail closer to the southern wall of the glacier on an optional boat trip.
